What Is Windows 12?
Windows 12 is the anticipated next major version of Microsoft’s operating system. Internal codenames (reportedly “Next Valley”), patent filings, and a shift toward AI-first architecture strongly suggest a significant release beyond Windows 11 is coming.
Some analysts believe Microsoft may move toward a rolling AI-powered update model rather than numbered versions. Either way, a major leap beyond Windows 11 is expected in the 2026–2027 timeframe.
