This is different from the Visio Plan 1 and Plan 2 subscriptions that Microsoft sells with Microsoft 365, which stop working when payment stops. Visio Pro or Standard: which one do I need?
Visio Professional includes every template and feature in Visio Standard and adds the ones professional users rely on: detailed network and rack diagrams, floor plans, BPMN business process diagrams, UML and database modeling shapes, and data linking that updates shapes from Excel or SQL Server. Can I install Visio alongside Office 2021 or Office 2024?
Yes. Microsoft supports installing perpetual Visio next to Office of the same or adjacent generation, so Visio 2024 runs alongside Office 2024 or Office 2021, and Visio 2021 runs alongside Office 2021 or 2019. Visio appears as its own application and shares the ribbon, themes and file dialogs you already know. Does Visio 2024 run on a Mac?
No. The perpetual Visio desktop application is Windows only, and every Visio key in this category is for one Windows PC. There is no Mac edition of Visio Professional 2024, 2021 or 2019. Mac users who need Visio can run Windows in a virtual machine or use the browser-based Visio for the web that Microsoft includes in certain Microsoft 365 plans, but that web version is a subscription product and is not what we sell. Can I move my Visio license to a new computer?
