This category contains our Microsoft Office 2013 Professional Plus license key for one PC. Office 2013 is a legacy release, and we want to be direct about what that means before you buy. Microsoft ended all support for Office 2013 on April 11, 2023. The suite still installs, still activates and still opens and saves every standard Office file, but it no longer receives security updates, bug fixes or technical support from Microsoft. We list it for customers who have a specific reason to run this version, not as a general recommendation.
Those reasons are real. Some PCs still run Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 and cannot move to a newer suite. Some businesses standardized on Office 2013 years ago and need one more matching license for a replacement machine or a lost key. Some rely on an add-in, macro or template that was written for 2013 and has never been tested on anything newer. And some people simply prefer the interface they know. For those buyers, a genuine Office 2013 product key is the correct product. Files are saved in the same .docx, .xlsx and .pptx formats used by Office 2024 and Microsoft 365, so documents move between versions freely, although features added after 2013 will not be available when you open a newer file here.

The table makes the trade-off clear. Office 2013 is the only one of these that installs on Windows 8 and the only one where every application matches a 2013-era environment, but it is also the only one with no remaining Microsoft support of any kind. If your PC can run Office 2021 or Office 2024, one of those is the better long-term purchase.
System requirements
Office 2013 is light by modern standards. Microsoft's published requirements are a 1 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM for the 32-bit version or 2 GB for 64-bit, 3 GB of free disk space and a screen resolution of 1024 by 576 or higher. Supported operating systems are Windows 7 with Service Pack 1, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. Microsoft does not list Windows 11 as a supported platform for Office 2013, so we cannot guarantee correct behavior there even though the installer may run. One more limitation to know: Microsoft no longer supports connecting Office 2013 applications, including Outlook 2013, to Microsoft 365 services, so the suite is best used with local files, IMAP or POP mail, or an on-premises Exchange server.
Which edition should I choose?
- Microsoft Office 2013 Professional Plus for 1 PC: the product in this category. Choose it when you specifically need the 2013 release for an older PC, an existing 2013 environment or a legacy add-in.
- Microsoft Office 2016 Professional Plus for 1 PC: the closest newer alternative. It still installs on Windows 7 SP1 and 8.1, includes the same applications, and received security updates until October 14, 2025.
- Microsoft Office 2021 Professional Plus for 1 PC: the last release that includes Publisher, still under mainstream support, for any PC running Windows 10 or 11.
- Microsoft Office 2024 Professional Plus for 1 PC: the current suite with support until October 9, 2029. Our recommendation for a primary computer.
If you are buying to match an existing installation, check the year shown under File and then Account in any of your current Office apps and choose the same one. If you are replacing a whole PC, buy the newest release it can run.

The applications continue to install, activate and work with local files. Does Office 2013 work on Windows 11?
Microsoft does not list Windows 11 as a supported operating system for Office 2013, and we cannot guarantee that every feature will behave correctly there. In practice the installer often runs and the applications often open, but you would be running an unsupported suite on an operating system it was never tested against. If your PC runs Windows 11, Office 2021 or Office 2024 Professional Plus is the appropriate purchase and both are fully supported on that platform.
Will my Office 2013 files open in Office 2024?
Yes. Office 2013 saves documents, workbooks and presentations in the same Open XML formats, .docx, .xlsx and .pptx, that Office 2024 and Microsoft 365 use. Files created in 2013 open in newer versions without conversion. The reverse also works, though features introduced after 2013 will be unavailable or simplified when a newer file is opened here. Access 2013 databases in .accdb format open in Access 2024, and Publisher 2013 files open in Publisher 2016, 2019 and 2021.
Can I download Office 2013 from Microsoft?
Microsoft has removed Office 2013 from its main download pages, which is one reason customers come to us.
