Open any Office app → File → Account to confirm the installed edition and version matches your key. Re-enter your 25-character key carefully, checking for typos or extra spaces. Ensure your device is connected to the internet during activation. If it still fails, screenshot your Office version and the full error message and send it with your order number to support@softwareinstore.com.
My product key is not working — Windows
Error 0xc004f050 almost always means the Windows edition installed does not match the key — for example, a Pro key cannot activate a Home installation. Go to Settings → System → About to check your edition, then verify it matches your order. Re-enter the key carefully. If it still fails, screenshot the error and your Windows edition and send to support with your order number.

How to activate Microsoft Office
Open any Office app → File → Account → confirm installed version matches your key → click Change Product Key → enter your 25-character key → follow the prompts. Activation completes automatically over the internet.
How to activate Windows
Settings → System → Activation → Change product key → enter your key → click Next. Windows activates automatically. Once complete the page will show: Windows is activated with a digital license.
How to use a bind key
Sign in or create a Microsoft Account at account.microsoft.com. Enter your bind key on the Microsoft activation page — this permanently links the license to your account. Download the software from your Microsoft Account dashboard, install it, and sign in with the same account. The product activates automatically.
How to upgrade Windows Home to Pro
Settings → System → Activation → Change product key under Upgrade your edition of Windows → enter your Pro key → click Next → follow the prompts. Your PC will restart during the upgrade. Verify the edition at Settings → System → About after completion. If you see error 0xc004f050, contact support — we will provide the correct upgrade key.
How to convert Windows Server Evaluation to Full
Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run slmgr /dli to confirm your current edition. Then run DISM /Online /Set-Edition:ServerStandard /ProductKey:XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX /AcceptEula with your edition name and key. Do not restart until the process completes. After restarting, run slmgr /dlv to confirm full activation.
Windows Smart App Control blocking installation
Settings → Privacy & Security → Windows Security → App & Browser Control → set Smart App Control to Off → run your installer → re-enable Smart App Control after installation.
How to uninstall Microsoft Office
On Windows: Settings → Apps → Installed apps → find Microsoft Office → three-dot menu → Uninstall. For stubborn installations use Microsoft's Support and Recovery Assistant at support.microsoft.com. On Mac: Finder → Applications → drag each Office app to Trash → empty Trash → optionally remove leftover files from ~/Library/Containers/ and ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/.
